testimonials
Very good service provided by Anthyesti. Very caring and professional approach at a time when the family is distressed. They also provided contacts for services not related to their line of activities...like removal of pacemaker etc. Very satisfied with them. Specially Ashish, the Manager, has been a source of strength during our bereavement. God Bless them all.

Very professional service, with prompt and polite staff. However, I found the cost for flowers to be put on the hearse to be quite exhorbitant, and therefore arranged for that myself. Also, the calls to post review of services should ideally be made at a later time, not when the family is grieving. On the whole, a mostly satisfactory experience.
Anthyesti did a wonderful job in transporting the mortal remains of my late brother-in-law from abroad to Gobindpur. We were initially expecting the body and Bhubaneswar airport but also wanted support till a remote location in Orissa and they finished the last mile without any hassles. God bless the whole team including Abhishek and the Delhi team

FAQ
A crematorium is a facility where the deceased are cremated, which is the process of reducing a body to ashes through the application of intense heat. A crematorium service refers to the ceremony or rituals conducted when someone is cremated. This typically involves bringing the body to the crematorium, holding a small service which may include prayers, remembrances, or music, placing the body into the cremation chamber, and then collecting the ashes afterwards. The ashes may then be buried, scattered, or kept by loved ones in an urn. The service provides an opportunity for loved ones to say goodbye and find closure.
Cremation is the process of reducing a body to bone fragments and ashes through intense heat. The deceased is placed in a combustible casket or shroud and put inside a cremation chamber or retort. The chamber is then heated to extremely high temperatures, around 1400-1800 degrees Fahrenheit. The intense heat vaporizes soft tissues and burns away hair, skin, and organs. Only bones and bone fragments remain after about 2 hours. These are then processed into small fragments and ashes using mechanical devices. The ashes are about 4-8 pounds and are usually light grey or white in color. They are then collected and given to the family of the deceased.
The ceremony after someone’s death is typically referred to as a funeral or memorial service. It is a gathering of family and friends to mourn, remember, and honor the deceased. The body is often present during the ceremony, either in a casket or urn if cremated. The ceremony may include religious or spiritual rituals depending on the beliefs of the deceased. There may be readings, music, sharing of memories, and eulogies given by loved ones. Flowers, candles, and other symbols may decorate the location. At the conclusion, there may be a procession to the final resting place such as a cemetery or mausoleum if burying the body, or the ashes may be scattered or placed in a columbarium if cremated. The ceremony provides closure and comfort during grief.
When attending a cremation service, it is appropriate to dress respectfully and conservatively. Dark colored clothing like black, gray, or navy blue are common choices. For women, a modest dress or pant suit is recommended. Avoid plunging necklines or short hemlines. For men, a suit and tie or at minimum a button-up shirt with slacks is suitable. Shoes should be dressy – leather over sneakers. Avoid bold prints or loud colors that could be seen as distracting. Some families may request guests to wear bright colors or casual attire if it was the preference of the deceased. Ask the family if uncertain. The goal is to dress in a manner that honors the solemnity of the occasion and the memory of the deceased.
During a cremation service, the body is placed in a cremation chamber or retort and subjected to intense heat that reduces the body to bone fragments and ashes. This cremation process usually takes 2-3 hours to complete. Once cremation is finished, the remaining bone fragments are processed into finer pieces using a device called a cremulator. These cremated remains are then placed in a temporary container. After the service, the ashes are typically given to the family or loved ones of the deceased. They may choose to keep the ashes in an urn, scatter them in a meaningful place, bury them in a grave or niche, or split up the ashes amongst family members. Some ashes may also be incorporated into memorial jewelry or other keepsakes. The ashes are cared for based on the wishes of the deceased.
The most affordable cremation service option is a direct cremation. This forgoes a formal viewing or ceremony. The body is simply transported from the place of death to the crematorium. The cremation is carried out, and the ashes are placed in a basic plastic or cardboard container. This avoids the costs of embalming, a casket, rental of a ceremony space, flowers, printed materials, and other associated expenses. Direct cremations can cost between ₹35,000-₹70,000 or even less in some areas. Additional services can be declined to save money, like transport in a hearse. While simple, a direct cremation allows for the cremation process at the lowest cost. Families can hold a memorial service later if they choose.
A memorial service after cremation focuses on honoring the deceased without the body present. First, choose a location that was meaningful to the deceased or can accommodate guests. Decide on the timing – some families have the service right after cremation, others wait. Create and send invitations to family/friends. Select readings, music or playlists that represent the deceased’s personality. Display photos and mementos around the space. Choose someone to lead the service and speakers to give eulogies sharing memories. Offer food and drinks if appropriate. The memorial service allows more flexibility like releasing balloons, butterfly releases or dove releases. The important part is gathering loved ones to share stories and grief so all can cherish the deceased.
The cost of a cremation service can vary greatly depending on location and options chosen. A direct cremation with no service is the most affordable option, typically ranging from ₹35,000-₹70,000 in India. This includes transportation, the cremation process, and a basic container for ashes. Full service cremations average ₹2,50,000-₹5,00,000 in India. This includes cremation costs along with preparation of the body, a ceremony, urn, hearse transportation, funeral director services, filing paperwork, and other associated expenses. Additional options like a customized urn or scattering ashes can add more costs. Cremation is generally cheaper than burial since no plot purchase is needed. Costs are higher in metropolitan areas. Discussing options with a funeral director can help determine the right cremation service based on needs and budget.
